It is said that the Maharishi Bhrigu, who wrote the original astrology book stayed here and meditated near the holy waters of the lake. The local people believe because of this fact the waters of the Bhrigu Lake never freeze. You can reach this place from Manali on foot by trekking or you can also approach from Gulaba village.
The main event of this place is when the Kullu gods visit this place once a year to take a dip in water and pay their obeisance. Maharishi Vashisht from nearby Vashisht village also pays a visit in three to four years.

The trekking route is very simple yet a little tough for the beginners in these sports. They can set up the overnight camp near Bhrigu Lake and savor the beauty of outdoors. The route and the lake are surrounded with the alpine forests and green meadows which are fringed by various trees such as birch, cedar and silver oak. When you are on trekking route and are ascending trails, the lake appears magically before you and awes you with the glistening waters.
