Hadimba Temple in Old Manali
Manali is famous for its various religious places of
importance. People come to visit here from different parts of the world. Hadimba
temple, situated in the calm and quiet Old Manali region, is one of the most
popular and well known temples of this locality and has a lot of religious
importance.
After entering Old Manali, you will have to take a 10-15min hike, or take the stairs to reach the glorious footsteps of the temple set amongst the dense forest area. Carved wooden doors and cone shape-structured roof define the shape of this temple. It was originally built in memory of Hadimba Devi, who was a character in the Mahabharata.
The temple was built back in the year 1553 and has since
been observed as one of the most important temples of the Manali region.The roof has three timber tiles covering it and it has
carvings all over that depict the rich culture and heritage of the era in which
this temple was built. You won’t want to put your camera away once you enter
the vicinity of this beautiful temple.
Situated against the sharp contrast of snow-covered mountains, the Hadimba temple is a small but extremely famous destination for pilgrims traveling here across the world.It is to be noticed that a lot of local weddings and other religious events usually take place in this periphery.
